Winner of both the USA and World champions in hurdle events, Lolo Jones has reached her current position after many years of hard work and an immense patience. Jones grew up with an extremely difficult and hardship-filled life being the daughter of an unwed mom with five children. Her mother had been constantly moving and she even was a resident at the bottom of her home. Jones was required to go to a new high school each year due to her nomadic lifestyle. In Theodore Roosevelt High School, Jones was separated from her mother in order to pursue her interest in athletics. Jones, when she went to college, was regarded as a top hurdler. Jones was the winner of the 100-meter hurdles at the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championship. She also participated in the team that finished second in the 100-meters relay. In 2003 and in 2004, Jones was the winner of the indoor hurdles competition during the NCAA Championship. Jones began her track and field career in 2005 after she finished her university studies. Jones won Torino Memorial in 2005, in addition to Ostrava and Heusden races the following year.
